What happened at Fatima and what is its value? In May 13, 1917, a lady brighter than the Sun appeared to three children, calling on them to pray and meet her for five months, always on day 13. In his last appearance, the mysterious woman identified himself, in front of thousands of people, as the Lady of the Rosary and, from that, there were some miracles. The Church accepted the message of our Lady in Fatima because complies with divine revelation: its fundamental core is the invitation to conversion and Penance – precisely the words with which Jesus began his public Ministry. What is the third secret of Fatima? When Mary appeared to three children, showed them a secret that, obviously, did not reveal to anyone, by express desire of the Virgin. Lucia, one of the survivors, wrote the secret when the Bishop of Leiria ordered him and our Lady allowed. In fact, more than three secrets, is a text that has three parts; that is why one speaks of the third part of the secret of Fatima. The first two parts were made known in the 40, when they were disclosed in the diary of sister Lucy. The third part was written in 1944 and sent to the secret archives of the Holy Office in Rome. Even João XXIII or Paul VI revealed its contents. João Paulo II read the text following the attack he suffered in May 13, 1981 and, after his reading, made a solemn act of consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. When the secret was revealed and what is its content? In one of his visits to Fatima, João Paulo II wanted to make known publicly the third part of the secret of Fatima. It was May 13, 2000. The Popes Secretary of State, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, said the core of the vision, which has to do mainly with the struggle of atheistic systems against the Church and against Christians, and describes the immense suffering of the witnesses to the faith in the last century of the second Millennium. In June 2000, the Congregation for the doctrine of the Faith made known manuscripts of the Seer Lucia relating to the three parts of the secret. The first is on the terrible sight doinferno and the second contains the promise that, in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph and there will be peace, after having done the consecration of Russia to the mother of the Lord. As regards the third part of the secret, revealed by our Lady on July 13, 1917 and also handwritten by Lucia, it is, in short, the vision of an Angel with a sword of fire along the Maria, exhorting to penance. In addition, a Bishop dressed in white, along with other bishops, priests and religious appear climbing a mountain crowned by a Grand Cross, crossing, for that, a ruined city, full of corpses. Upon arriving at the top, the Bishop is assassinated by soldiers, they do the same with the other ecclesiastics and others lay faithful. Under the cross angels gather in crystal jars, the blood of the martyrs and with it Regan souls who get close to God. The third part of the secret is a prophetic vision comparable to those of sacred history. The vision of Fatima concerns above all the struggle of atheistic communism against the Church and against Christians, and describes the immense suffering of the victims of faith in the 20 century. The Bishop dressed in white represented the Papa João Paulo II who suffered, and it was our lady who deflected the bullet fired in the attack, to prevent his death. How to understand this secret from the Christian faith? All this theme, before and after its publication by the Church, has spawned many interpretations and comments.
