What happened to the 49ers? The Sports Illustrated story has an interesting insight: Like every coach, his store of anecdotes and saying is finite. Over the course of several seasons, his act may grow thin. One theory has it that the coach is a turnaround specialist whose freshness date expires after a few seasons. I am not a huge 49er fan, but I prefer them over non-California teams, except the Rams that I was given to me by my father. Yet, I ponder my personality to inspire with a freshness date that expires. Once a friend said that I can be like a light you want to turn off. He thought I had too much energy too often and complained about my impulsive energetic tendency to excitement. And, looking back over the last 40 years, I have offended people who prefer less enthused responses to life. Well, I get it, their perspective is valid, but not shared by me. The day that I settle for boredom is the day I hope their putting dirt on my coffin. I think life is to be lived. I think too often we seek for neat and tidy at the expense of messy joy that comes from the practice of patience and perhaps a form of active love that accepts, includes, and approves of differences in personality. In the psychological cure all attitudes of fixing others, Im reminded of the plank in my eye while I nit pick another soul, heart, and motive. And, being excited, energetic, and enthusiastic causes certain curtness in reaction. Aloofness and detachment cools the passion and reduces the risk of unpredictable outcomes. At least the 49ers play football with abandon. Leaving the writers to analyze their loss doesnt take away from the desire to play the game. I challenge myself to avoid just rooting as a fan for others to live; I challenge my soul to live in the game of life. Each day is new, with new mercies abounding by the grace of God. Our creation is a reflection of Creator God. Life is a gift. Yeah God! https://youtube/watch?v=qOkImV2cJDg&list=RDkJ7RNUPRcKA&index=10
