Lars Sven Lasse Hallström (born 2 June 1946) is a Swedish film director and screenwriter. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for My Life as a Dog (Mitt liv som hund) (1985) and later for The Cider House Rules (1999). He learned his craft making music videos, in particular for the group ABBA. He also directed the well-received film Chocolat (2000). Steven Knight (born 1959) is a British screenwriter and film director. Knight has written the screenplays for the films Closed Circuit, Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, and also directed as well as written the films Locke and Hummingbird (a.k.a. Redemption). Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake are producing the film adaptation scripted by Steven Knight. In an interview, Winfrey quoted, Food allows to blend cultures and gives ability peek in others life. It is about a hundred foot divide between cultures. Winfrey chose the book on which the film is based as a favorite summer read in 2010.
