What has happened to us as a people? Where is that unity or unanimity that was demonstrated by our forefathers not 200, not 100 but as little as 60 years ago. Within the past week I have done an extensive study on The Freedom Riders: extraordinary men and women that were savagely beaten, imprisoned, left for dead as they traveled throughout the south in a quest to enforce the Supreme Court ruling outlawing segregation in bus and train terminals. These courageous individuals left their homes, their families, their possessions so that WE could be afforded equal rights and justice for your family as well as mine. The guys I run with, workout with, hang with, church with, I bet I couldnt get 10 of them to commit to attending a NAACP meeting with me :( 5 If I promised to feed them. We as a people must do better to support one another, love one another, encourage one another like The Freedom Riders who departed from Washington, DC on May 4th 1961. To those family members of those 400 plus. BRAVO!! Because of you....I can....I will!
