What has happened to you my dear country, Nigeria? A country where - TopicsExpress

What has happened to you my dear country, Nigeria? A country where every new born baby usually burst into laughter at parturition instead of crying. Where Olayemi cherished being called Yemi, Chineye always happy at the hearing of Nenye & Mohammed never despised Hammid. A country that was being envied by other countries around the globe. A country where peace (White) & Agriculture (Green) was the basis for independence. That is blessed with numerous natural resources. A country where #1 had an equivalent exchange rate of £1 & where parents usually regard a child that spends #5 in one year as a prodigal son/ daughter . The Giant of Africa & 7th most popular country in the world. Where investors wished to flourish in their respective area of commerce. Where investors used to persuade employees to work for them & where workers were being begged & pampered for their co-operation because agriculture was what the country was known for & was more profitable than any White collar job. A country that was held together by the momentum of great heroes & heroines. Where every uniform job was inferior to our native agriculture. What has happened to you, Nigeria? What could make a mother stop breastfeeding her infant baby? Is it due to the increase in rainfall or the higher intensity of solar radiation! NO! Because rainfall is the basis for our survival in agriculture & solar radiation for storage of agricultural produce. Is it down to the increase in population? NEVER! As she is by far trailing some other developing countries (China..) by mass & yet they are surviving. Then what could make Olayemi changed to Yemite, Chineye to Giveth & Mohammed, MD? My country became a battle field where survival of the fittest & elimination of the weak seems to be the only rule that prevail. Where our politrickcians get covered & the commoners pay the price of another mans cause. Where our natural resources became the reason for the struggle & our agriculture thrown into pit. Where #1,000 now summons only about £4 in stock exchange & investors are gods of unemployed people and also drain there lucky workers. Where scramble for UNIFORM JOB led to the demise of some unemployed graduates (may the souls of the 18 immigration job applicants rest in perfect peace). Where has the giant gone to? Is she sleeping? Nigerians! Let us join hands in unity, to wake our country & urge prayer warriors to help our dear country. God bless Nigeria!!!
