What have I been up to? Well, Ive been marketing and promoting my upcoming ballet book - The Strength of Ballerinas, and doing some more writing on another. #ballerinas I also thought of an event the other day that made me smile. When I was in grade school, I got to meet a real live childrens book author. They had closed our local library branch for the summer (which was frustrating, because I took out two books a week). It turned out that they renovated the library and had a grand opening with the mayor. After the mayor cut the ribbon, the crowd entered and saw a beautiful, new library. There was a large mural on the wall, which turned out to be an illustration from the authors book. It was so exciting not only to have a new library, but to meet a real author too! Today, there are so many media and great bookstores, such as Barnes & Noble that surround us, that meeting authors is not such a rare event anymore. Life comes full circle, as I will now be an author, signing books. Little did I know as a child, standing on those library steps, that I would be in the authors shoes myself one day. Isnt it fun when things work out in an interesting way? Just a note for a quiet Sunday evening. : )
