What have we, the students of Fed. Poly. Ilaro done to offend the asup chairlady, Ilaro chapter, Mrs Olowofela to deserve this kind of treatment? If weve offended her, she should have drawn our attention to it and well sencerely apologise but punishing us in this manner is uncalled for. Truely when we joined the strike back in feb 13th, it was a call frm the national body but the matter get worst everyday we see other polys pull out of this strike. Weve even lost count of polys pulling out of this strike but we keep thinking of why Ilaro chapter of asup have refused to. We know out lecturers are very hard working staffs with reputition among their collegues in other school. I can beat my chest to say its not the decision of our lecturers to continue with this strike, they are been forced to.And i dont know where the force is coming from but lm sure its nt the national body this time because thousands of schs have pulled out already. Just yesterday a school pulled out of this stike, i learnt the president of asup lectures in the school and i begin to wonder if asup strike is for real. All state polys are in session while those nt in session are stuggling with internal crisis and nt part of asup strike nation wide. On behalf of the Ilaro poly students, i plead with the management to do whatever they can to pasuade the union to pull out of this strike so that we may complete that little period remaining in the semester and also retain the standard our school is know for during the time of the immediate past rector of the poly, Dr, Oloyo. I also plead with the asup union, Ilaro chapter to please consider the students in whatever way they can, this suffering and hardship is too much. We sudents contine to believe in our lecturers, we believe in FPI, we believe in Nigeria even as the state of things are. I specially tag my write up to our ever caring mother, Mrs Olowofela to please consider the plight of the students and save our future. We plead that a congress be called as a matter of urgency and the matter be delibrated on as it was called when we were to join the strike on Feb the 13th. And if our plight is considered, well forever be grateful to the staffs and management of the school. CC: mrs Olowofela Engr Akintade Mr Adeosun Governing council FPI Other stakeholders.
