What i thought would be a simple process. not so much. last week i attempted to start putting headers on the inline 6. well in order to do that, you must remove the intake. ok cool. to remove the intake, the air cleaner assembly, throttle body, and vacuum lines need to be removed. ok thats fine. to do that, the EGR system needs removed, the fuel lines disconnected, the serp belt removed, the alternator removed, the power steering pump swung out of the way, the intake is an upper and lower, split those two, remove the giant cast aluminum bracket that has bolts hidden behind the alternator and p/s pump, remove the 02 sensor, disconnect some more vacuum lines, and then boy howdy, remove the like 15 bolts, and youve got the exhaust and intake in your hands... had my knees on the valve cover, my head holding me up on the heater box, one arm holding the entire bottom intake portion, and the other wiggling the exhaust manifolds....i got that far today on it. i quit after that, im sore as hell. then on top of that, i went for a bike ride, played frisbee golf, worked on my saturn for a bit, welded some on the exhaust, drove into pekin autozone twice. 80 bucks later and ive got all the necessary gaskets to complete my job now lol. i need my chiropractor, my spine probably looks like an S lol. ya cant say i dont work hard, i dont play hard, and i dont try and do everything myself lol. only thing i didnt do today because of the wind, was get out the RC plane...real bummer that was. im looking forward to it so much. now im headed into work early tomorrow to try and do my 20s. well see how that goes. week 6 of being the only person in the parts department. i need a vacation. one were i dont do anything but relax lol.
