What if? A theory proposed: (JeffC) Let me share a theory of mine that I have been thinking quite a lot about lately. Could it be that the cause of the high divorce rate in the church is not so much due to sinful people just wanting to get out of their marriage as we have been told it is all these years, but that the breakdown of the family and marriages is in fact much more commonly due to an abuser hiding behind the cloak of Christianity? If that is the case, even in part, then think of the ramifications! It would mean that much of the focus on family, on marriage retreats, marriage counseling efforts trying to quell the divorce rate has been based upon a very flawed diagnosis of what the real problem is!
