What if I told you that in 1984, Computer Science degrees accounted for a little more than 4% of all college degrees awarded and in the 30 years since that percentage HAS GONE DOWN while degrees such as Psychology and Art & Performance have gone up?(no offense but everyone knows that job prospects are slim to none with these degrees). To me student loan debt, unemployment, and minimum wage arent the problems we should be discussing. Too many people going to college for the wrong thing is the major issue. I personally refuse to feel bad for the general public until people suck it up and Engineering & Computer Science degrees improve, because there are plenty of jobs, they are just from the hard majors in undergrad.
