What if Jeff Jarrett Purchased WCW Part I This is one of my own ideas I came up with awhile ago and have decided to share it with you guys, keep in mind what it says at the top...”Part I,” depending on your thoughts, I might add more...Enjoy! The date is January 2nd 2001, rumors run rampant throughout the WCW lock room, word has it that WCW has been bought out, they will finish off their obligations, then on March 26th we’d see the new owners and a change of WCW. Many around the wrestling world think and assume that it’s Vince McMahon who has bought out WCW, and will be closing the doors on them, and likely on many of the talent backstage. March 26th happens, it’s Monday night, fans watching worldwide, as it’s predicted that this will be WCW’s last show, the last Monday Night Nitro ever. Fans and talent alike are waiting backstage, all nervous, no one knowing who the new owners are. The announcers state this is the moment they have been waiting for, for months, the new owners are about to make their way to the ring, they will reveal who they are, and the future of WCW and everyone that goes along with it. A few minutes go by, no one shows up, it becomes so quiet in the arena you could hear a pin drop, then, the music hits... “The Cho-Cho-Chosen One” People gasp, in shock, the announcers have no clue what’s going on, they ask what was Jeff Jarrett doing headed to the ring? Jarrett stands at the entrance, stands there, no expression, no movement, slowly he looks around the arena, and lifts up his black and white guitar, on the back of it, it reads in black lettering: “The Boss.” There’s a mix reaction from the fans, some wondering if this was some dumb storyline, something that made no sense. Jarrett looks behind him and out walks Toby Keith, they make their way to the ring, and Jeff speaks: “So for months now, we have all known about the so-called demise of WCW, and people have wondered who has bought out WCW? Well, it’s me!” “Things around here are going to change, with the help of my good friend here, Toby Keith, and the NEW General Manager, the Icon, Sting!” Sting’s TNA music hits, he walks to the ring wearing a shirt that skimpily has a red X on it, Jeff continues to speak... “It’s time for a change around here, some new blood added, some old parts disposed of, and this is what I am thinking of. A new group, a group I’m calling the X Division, an extension of what you know of now as the Cruiserweights, but there are NO limits with this group, this group contains a NEW breed of high flyers, a group that will literally make you jump out of your seats.” At that moment the following wrestlers appear at the entrance way. AJ Styles, Alex Shelley, Amazing Red, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Elix Skipper, Frankie Kazarian, Jay Lethal, Jimmy Rave, Lo-Ki, Matt Sydal & Petey Williams Jarrett announces a rivalry between the X Division and the Cruiserweights at the new Pay-Per View, the anniversary of Total Non-Stop Action, we call it Slammiversary. He then states that WCW needs more and better tag teams, so he asks Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin to stay at the entrance way, and Jarrett announces them to be the Motor City Machine Guns, and he introduces other tag teams, Homicide & Hernandez, Chris Harris & James Storm, these 3 teams will be joining the ranks of the WCW tag teams. He asks them all to leave the entrance and starts talking about adding heavyweights, out then comes Abyss, Robert Roode, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Lance Hoyt & Monty Brown. Jarrett continues on with his speech, a few more minutes pass by and all the wrestlers he had called out make their way to the ring, they all are wearing a shirt that says: “WCW now has some REAL TNA” Jarrett closes off Nitro announcing the FREE LIVE PPV, SLAMMIVERSARY for April 2001. King of the Mountain: Jeff Jarrett vs. Abyss vs. Robert Roode vs. Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries Ultimate X: AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Petey Williams Triple Threat Elimination Tag Team Motor City Machineguns vs. LAX vs. America’s Most Wanted Monster’s Ball Abyss vs. Sting X Division vs. Cruiserweight Division Triple X (Lo-Ki & Elix Skipper) vs. Filthy Animals (Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman) Battle Royal for the final spot in the King of the Mountain match later that night: Austin Aries vs. Lance Hoyt vs. Monty Brown vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Matt Sydal vs. Amazing Red vs. Jay Lethal Now let’s pretend you are watching this, you went back in time and saw all of this happening, and you knew how all these wrestlers are, what are your thoughts on Jarrett purchasing WCW and announcing these wrestlers to the roster, and what do you think of the free Pay-Per View? You heard the card line-up, what are your thoughts, knowing what you know today?
