What if everything that pokes & nags at us, and has a “charge” that steals our attention (& our peace & joy) is simply stuck in a dark room calling out to us for light? Like a frightened child too afraid of what lurks in the darkness to leave the bed…calling, moaning, crying, begging for attention and assistance. The moment we give it our attention, open the door to ask what it needs, the light floods the darkened room and all is well. What if the deeper truth in that metaphor is that the pattern was probably born in childhood, when someone showed it to us and told us it was who we were and it was how things worked here. When we believed it, we turned out the light and closed the door. But the truth – the knowing of our higher self - has been calling to us ever since to come back and bring the light.
