What if one of the main doctrines of religion is one that stresses - TopicsExpress

What if one of the main doctrines of religion is one that stresses a personal relationship with the Almighty? Whereby masses do congregate, but share a personal connection with the almighty ( perhaps how personal prayer in nearly every major religion came about).. Professing a religion based on and through certain doctrines, doesnt take away the fact that it is a personal thing. This is the reason secularism came about. Religion is a personal experience, that should not come in the way, or be used to govern a state. The common denominator, is the morals that can be derived from these religions, and that should be used to govern states. There is a BIG line between morals and faith though, where the latter should not come into play as not every person shares the same faith. As a Hindu, I have been taught this, and I know for a fact that most Hindus see it this way as well. Even though Hinduism revolves around a host of rites, methods, doctrines, etc, the underlying principle is that religion is a personal relationship between oneself and the Almighty. I also personally believe that it is the case with other religions, faiths, and ways of life too.. At least from what I have experienced with my mates from different religious backgrounds. With that said, Happy Deepavali everybody! The light from within, burns the brightest!
