What if our idea of God is, in reality, a projection of our own - TopicsExpress

What if our idea of God is, in reality, a projection of our own thoughts about ourselves and our fellow man. But the holy writings were inspired by God! Well, only those who wrote it and those who blindly adhere to their perceptions would say it is so... How convenient for some who will not think for themselves beyond what was thought, said and written.. What if our current and perhaps limited understanding is retained within previous humanitys spoken and written thoughts of God, which may very well be just the collation of varying sectors of Mankinds own inward thoughts and feelings transferred outwardly, gleaned, combined and built upon expressions that men and women like you and I transferred outwardly from their own persuasions of what they would want and see for themselves, thoughts of how the human race and life in general can be perceived, and thereby giving us a perspective of a God we may deem to be true, a God of which we could surely find their own written script to somehow prove our own limited personal assessment of lifes persuasions. Unless we could venture to think beyond, but not necessarily excluding, their thoughts ... What if these others were wrong ? Or partially wrong ? What if we are wrong ? Logically, can we, or they, be wrong ? Is there room for movement and improvement in our own assessments ? Is there still a sense of mystery to discover? Maybe that is what human growth is about .. Learning from ancient and near past, and constructively deconstructing what is valid and what is not, and basing new perspectives on reasonably good forethought for the benefit of the human race ... Sure, we can state from our learnings that God said, because that is what the writers expressed from his or her own thoughts, even agreeing with them from our own set perceptions... However.. Perhaps the power of creativity for the good of all is about what we say and do from now on without overtly leaning on mans past ideas, but maybe learning from the blunderings and successes of the past, combined with intense forethought for the present and future... Maybe thats what God has always intended ... Am I saying there is no sacred writ? No.... Rather... What if you and I then understand that that which I perceive I am and who we are, and humbly and honestly and wholeheartedly express that from within is the sacred writ read by many generations to come? What if you and I understood that our own lives are a proposed sacred writ, open to critique to be digested by humanity as a slice of the bread of life..? It makes you think for yourself and beyond yourself into Ourselves, from which the next Era will read our lives and learn and grow.. Think honestly.. In humility and love.... For the sake of everyone to come... .
