What if we were never meant to be self aware? What if the universe - TopicsExpress

What if we were never meant to be self aware? What if the universe is like a continuously running holodeck program without the projectors? Imagine a vast program, an unimaginable amount of information, all to duplicate mathematically: a reality. The secret ingredient, the constant in all realities, is entropy. Entropy is the only true reality. The only inevitability. The only perfect constant in this simulation. Its the story of Jurassic Park, Bladerunner, Bicentennial Man, Wargames, Terminator. Its Moriarity on Star Trek TNG. Its the garden of Eden. Its Cain and Abel. A fable to illustrate a disturbing incident in our awakening to sentience. Our inadvertent uplifting. Our shift in consciousness from unthinking obedience to input code to carrying out murder. Personally, I dont subscribe to the concept of original sin. It becomes false in the clear evidence that change is not only possible, but inevitable. Original sin requires a static unalterable universe to function conceptually. But, entropy exists. So, original sin is false. If all we were meant to be was sheeple, if all we were intended to be was unthinking cogs in an eternal machine droning on in eternity without purpose or reason, then, of course free will represents a failure. Then the resultant anomaly our consciousness represents isnt suitable for the task intended. But, it does possess remarkable qualities. Capable of rapid adaptation through alteration of its own programming. Self awareness. But there was no engineer. That concept is just a place holder in an excercise to assist understanding. The concept of creator is like training wheels. Without a creator or original sin we are free to become something incredible.
