What if we were told that God will not judge the entire earth as - TopicsExpress

What if we were told that God will not judge the entire earth as one, nor any continent, nor a nation, nor a state, not even we and our closest family, friends, and/or allies as a group; but that we must - and that we will - stand alone and be judged? What if we are told that we will be getting everything that we have earned? What if God Himself told us that we - as individuals - are to be judged by the very exact and very precise measures and standards by which we have chosen - and continue to choose - to judge others? What if the amount of force (and pain) which we - as individuals - are willing to use against others is to be the very exact and very precise amount of force (and pain) to be used against us? What if we were told that our rewards - - and our punishments - - begin here on earth, today? What if we are judged by every weaknesses of character in ourselves which we see but which we refuse to really work on, and what if all of our strengths could be negated and weighed only as gifts we were given? What if our eyes are to be judged separately from our own ears? Our hands separately from our feet? When our brain is judged, perhaps it will stand alone, and be measured against our heart. What if all of our efforts toward a Freer world are measured against the darkness of an abusive, careless, and/or mean-spirited heart? What if the our biggest, most relentless, and never-ending sin which will continue to be visited on our own children for three or four generations is teaching them resentment? What if we Forgive? What if we try to understand (and perhaps even embrace) some of the lessons of the great spiritual leaders? What if we educate rather than fight with those who do not understand? What if we soften to what confronts us rather than hardening against it? What if rather than insulting people who are not as smart as we all think we are, we help them get back on their feet? What if we lead by example rather than shouting down folks who disagree with us? What if we point to real examples of what a voluntary society looks like, rather than insisting that people (who dont understand) take us at our word? What if God really does see each of us - quite individually - for what we are really made of? What if we are judged by our actions - and not for our mere words? What will it look like on the day when we - individually - actually start getting everything which we have - exactly and precisely - earned? What if God Himself told us that all of our rewards - - and our punishments - - will begin here on earth, and that from now on, on any given day, as individuals - we could be repaid for everything we did the day before? What would tomorrow look like? Would we start living a bit differently?
