What is Christmas? Christmas means giving instead of receiving. The Bible Says, “For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life (John 3:16). God is the Model of Giving What did He give? His one and only Son Jesus Christ. He is a giving God. His objective is giving instead of receiving. The Bible says, “…it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). As the model of giving, God gives His best. “He gave His ONE and ONLY Son. The giving ability of God is expressed by giving His best---His Son Jesus Christ. The Lord God has given up the darling of heaven to create the right atmosphere of Christmas. The motivating factor of giving is LOVE. “For God so loved the world…” What motivates the Almighty God to give? His love for the world. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. In application, Christmas should be observed in the atmosphere of giving instead of receiving, feeding instead of eating and giving favor instead of receiving favor. Why? This is the normative Christmas atmosphere that God has created. Christmas is giving instead of receiving…(to be continued). Bishop Labang
