A system under which appointments & the transfers of judges both are chosen by a forum of the Chief Justice of India and 4 senior-most judges of the Supreme Court. Note: It has no place in the Indian Constitution. Very Important: Article 124 linked up with the appointment of Supreme Court judges. The appointment approved the President after consultation with judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court. The CJI is to be consulted in all appointments, except his or her own. Another one we proceed Article 217 deals with the appointment of High Court judges. According to this a judge should be appointed by the President after consultation with the CJI and the Governor of the state also it is mandatory to include the Chief Justice of the High Court ( it must be consulted ) This system is Three Judge System. The Supreme Court of Indias collegium system, which appoints judges to the nations constitutional courts, has its genesis in, and continued basis resting on, three of its own judgements which are collectively known as the Three Judges Cases
