What is Cranial Sacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation and Fascial - TopicsExpress

What is Cranial Sacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation and Fascial Release? and how can they help you? Cranial Sacral Therapy is a non-invasive, light touch modality that is based on the movements and structures of the cranium, spinal cord, sacrum, cerebrospinal fluid and the connecting membranes. With CST, the practitioner feels for the Cranial Rhythmic Impulse and waits for the body to use its own healing ability to move into a harmonious state. Essentially, we are ‘holding space’ for the body to release stored emotions, adhesions and imbalances that it no longer needs. CST is safe for all ages and can treat a variety of different conditions including but not limited to immunity and general health to hip, neck and/or back pain, migraines, depression, and emotional issues and can even get as specific as conditions like Bell’s Palsy. Some clients experience emotional releases as well as physical releases as the body unwinds the restrictions, which leaves the body feeling lighter, more balanced and at ease. Visceral Manipulation is a technique specific to the organs within the body. Each organ has a job important to our homeostasis, or internal balance, and when not functioning properly or in dis-harmony, can create pain and discomfort to the specific area or in other parts of the body. By ‘feeling’ the condition of the organ the therapist can encourage improvement to its movement and function, releasing the discomfort and freeing the client from pain. Many conditions can be treated such as digestive issues, support to the liver following major medical treatments like Chemotherapy, urinary incontinence, adrenal depletion and many more! According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, each organ holds a positive and negative emotion. When these are not in balance a person may feel that emotion more than usual. Visceral Manipulation can also help release the emotion the body no longer needs and bring harmony to the client again. Fascial Release involves the entire body as one large envelope of connective tissue that surrounds, encloses and supports all its parts. Incorporating Fascial Release to the treatment helps approach each session from all angles of the restriction that the body is holding. Each treatment with me is completely specific to each client at that moment. The release can be extremely subtle to quite emotional, but is usually quite profound with very little pressure.
