What is Wisdom...? Wisdom is so close to knowledge that the one cannot be approached without the other. In order to understand the nature of wisdom, we must therefore distinguish it from its sibling, knowledge. Knowledge can exist without anyone harbouring it, as in a book. Wisdom, on the other hand, is inseparable from its owner. So long as knowledge remains unconsumed, like the book that has yet to be read, it remains inanimate. Yet once the book is read, the knowledge within can be transformed into wisdom. One definition of wisdom therefore is the application of living knowledge. This definition however, by no means encapsulates the strict boundaries of true wisdom. We can see that wisdom is alive and knowledge is inanimate, and that they come from different realms, yet wisdom cannot exist without knowledge, it is the food that nourishes it. So the question remains: What is Wisdom.? Answers On a Postcard...
