What is Your Biggest Fear? The resent earthquake in the Philippines really got me to thinking of all the things that can happen in our lives that cause us a tremendous amount of fear and anguish. To be in the center of an earthquake can certainly qualify as something to be fearful of, to see firsthand all around us floors moving as if made of water with rippling waves of supposed solid flooring beneath us, buildings crumbling and crashing about us etc. Yes, a very terrifying event. I started thinking back on some of my own experiences in my life where I had been witness to and personally involved in that were seemingly out of control, many of those memories I still draw from as a contractor in Iraq, you quickly come to the conclusion that this is way bigger than anything you or I can ever control. At a point when one is facing his own mortality he must realize God is in control, and for those who are His, can rest on His promise never to leave us nor forget us, whether in this body or out! I quickly came to the conclusion that the scariest thing anyone could ever go through, no matter how brave, is to hear those dreaded words from Christ Jesus, “‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ One day all will come before Him, every knee will bow, and the biggest this world has to offer will greatly pale in comparison. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, a consuming fire for those that try and come by any other means but through His Son, there can be no greater fear than this! Please continue to pray for the souls and lives of those families in and around the earthquake, that God will pour out His love to them though His chosen, thus revealing Himself personally to each that they may one day hear, well done good and faithful servant… Revelation 3:20 Jesus says; “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Is the He knocking? Will you open the door of your heart and let Him be Lord of your life? I pray it is so.
