What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. Its not the television contracts, get out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. ITS THE NOISE, THE PASSION, THE FEELING OF BELONGING, THE PRIDE IN YOUR CITY. ITS A SMALL BOY CLAMBERING UP STADIUM STEPS FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, GRIPPING HIS FATHERS HAND, GAWPING AT THAT HALLOWED STRETCH OF TURF BENEATH HIM AND, WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DO A THING ABOUT IT, FALLING IN LOVE! The late great Sir Bobby Robson. I had goose bumps writing this out as its exactly the same feeling I got with my dad some 18 Years ago at my first game (Nufc 5-0 Mufc) since then iv been black and white through and through.
