What is a culture as it pertains to the climate of our present day? We have been homogenized to a large degree from the distinctions that once prevailed among us or that gave particular identity to people groups, I am not saying these are gone but they are less cohesive. when I consider the characteristics of Christianity I do not see a culture that functions in Christ identity I see one based more on the particulars of spiritual gifting that creates a spin of its own. Is this valid? Somewhat but not entirely for it does not enlarge the community by serving the greater community in most cases. Yes we have break out groups that extend but most are drawn inward to a fear based survival pattern. We do not understand how to draw on the substance of Christ that creates a full cultural expression based around love. We are not penetrating into this world with valid expression. They knew they had been with Jesus. Is that the impact we carry? How are we with Jesus not merely by worshipping in an outward form. But by the entirety of life. We must offer a valid living expression of family that is valid in Christ. Because we have been drawn towards the things that do not form an expression on the earth we have less corporate strength.
