What is chess, if not a form of war? Chess has often been characterized as a mental martial art and anyone who has ever played a rated game can testify the great battle thrill that is ever present in tournaments. It may be wrong to assume that chess is a game of logic. It is primarily an antagonistic game, where the will to win is the motivational force to play, fight and consequently learn. That is why chess is not a game for the humble.
