What is clean eating? You can try any move with weights, you can run as many miles as you can, you can take as many supplements as you want, but…. If you don’t EAT CLEAN, you won’t get the six pack you’ve been wishing for so long. There’s no secret formula: clean eating is the answer! Here’s a brief description of what I consider being “clean eating”: Clean foods – foods that have a mom, or come from a tree or from the ground and have not been changed by any sort of artificial process or haven’t had any chemicals or conservatives added to it. Foods that are a good source of complex and fibrous carbs, lean protein and good fats (mono and polyunsaturated) Examples of “good carbs”: oats, quinoa, brown rice, sweet potato, red potato, grits, grains in general (beans, lentils, etc), yam, yuca, vegetables and low GI fruits Examples of “lean and good proteins”: fishes in general (I love salmon, tilapia, white fish, cod fish, sword fish, and flounder), flank steak, egg whites, tofu cheese, edamame, chicken and turkey Examples of “good fats”: almonds, cashews, peanuts, olive oil, coconut oil, macadamia oil, avocado, flaxseed
