What is compassion? One dictionary source cites, a feeling of deep sympathy for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. This definition, friends, is the foundation for LA on Cloud 9s very existence. And this is why, today, we launched our newest venture - our L.A. on Cloud9 Compassion Youth Program, at 68th Street Elementary School in south Los Angeles! In partnership with LA Unified School District LAs BEST program, LA on Cloud 9 will be conducting education and awareness outreach learning activities on a bi-weekly basis, to help our young children and future leaders understand the meaning and importance of being compassionate. Today, the students helped assemble hygiene bags, which put a smile on many faces, and even a couple of tears of sadness on others! Some did not know the meaning of compassion, but they will soon!! It is our goal that with our new program, LA on Cloud 9 will make a positive contribution in the lives of our youth, so that they grow up to be caring, and compassionate individuals, and reduce acts of noncompassion, such as bullying and hate.
