What is entertainment? Sure it can be stated as causing a form of biological arousal, but in a sociological perspective, can a specific source of entertainment hold a deeper meaning? Maybe a college football game, maybe the latest celebrity acting abnormal for attention, maybe even the very screens we hold in our hands while we check Facebook or the most recent text, all are forms that engulf us in that particular, plastic world. But what of the real world? Rather it be on a global scale or an individuals own surroundings, reality is hidden under a mask. We all know what Miley Cyrus is doing, but what is truly happening in the rest of the world (Or even our very own government)? Count how many people walk through their days, face glued to phone, unaware of the life thats happening right in front of them. We all are guilty of this, but its when one finally looks up to observe where theyre walking do they find more meaning in their interactions with reality. Thus getting back to the main point, what are these distractions truly distracting us from? Is it from the wars, the corruptions, the murders or manipulators? Or does mankind merely WANT to be distracted in order to avoid the fear and stress of a potential growing storm? This will be answered in time, but until then I encourage to put down the screens every now and then, and witness the world that is taking place ahead.
