What is love? Love is the biochemicals that you subjectively - TopicsExpress

What is love? Love is the biochemicals that you subjectively experience as feelings. That is what love is in the context of the biochemistry of love. Moreover in that context, biochemicals (namely, oxytocin)are responsible for the feelings that are associated with romantic love. The biochemical, oxytocin, is released when neurotransmitters stimulate the left side of the brain. So love is simply a biochemical substance. That is so if we accept the science. However the science is flawed on grounds of philosophy. Why? Because; 1. Neuroscientists need to prove that the material effects(namely, the biochemical)of the brains biochemical activity is love. 2. If neuroscientists cannot prove that the material effect of the brains biochemical activity is love, then they are assuming that love is a biochemical or that it is a material substance. 3. Neuroscientists cannot prove that the material effect(namely biochemicals)of the brains biochemical activity. (Yes they cannot prove that the material effect or biochemical corresponds to the subjective feeling or affection we call love. For love can only be experienced by the subject objectively the experiences. Since love is subjective, then it is not objective and therefore it cannot be observed by observing the physical events of the brain.) 4. Therefore Neuroscientists are assuming that love is a biochemical or that it is a material substance. So the scientific perspective of what love is is wrong because it is based on assumptions and because 1. Experiences are subjective and 2. Love is a construct. (Science cannot test constructs or ideas/concepts).
