What is our purpose in life? Why were we created? God is Love by His own definition. And that definition states that love needs a target and fellowship. So God created mankind, and gave him a special place in His heart. He also created mankind with the ability for pleasure, and the greatest of these pleasures comes from fellowship and love for God. This Holy pleasure is far superior to any other pleasures in the world, and perhaps the entire universe. So why would mankind search for other pleasures continuously? Because Satan has convinced mankind that God is a tyrant and that worldly sin is far greater pleasure than living with a tyrant. If mankind could just once know the great joy and pleasure of serving God, it would all be over for Satan. So just what is serving God? It is a lot better than Satan has distorted it to be. Serving God is simply receiving His love and reflecting that love back to Him. It is not getting His slippers, coffee, drinks, or any such things as one might consider a servants duties. It is merely honoring Him as the one true God, the Creator of all heaven and earth, the King of the universe. And the benefits of that simple duty are outrageous.
