What is performance? Yes, it does refer to jumping clear inside - TopicsExpress

What is performance? Yes, it does refer to jumping clear inside the time or scoring 80% in a dressage test, but it is also about the way every movement is performed - not just in a competition but how we ride or perform with our horses every day. Good performance requires good posture and musculo-skeletal health, physiological and psychological well being as well as whole body health and happiness. So, achieving good performance is as important for a pleasure rider walking down a farm track as it is for a top dressage horse and rider combination. All horses are athletes and as we affect their posture, balance and movement by sitting on them we have a duty to learn as much as we can about them and go the extra mile to support their posture health and wellbeing. Have a look at HorsesInsideOut for ideas for learning opportunities, whether it be books, DVDs, courses, demonstrations or FREE videos and articles that may be of interest. We chose the topics for our annual conference very carefully and hopefully you can see why we chose Training and Therapy for Performance.
