What is powerful enough to call a boy away from the streets? Why is the love of a wonderful mother, a supportive uncle and admiration of your younger brother not enough? When will a grandmas wisdom be the premonition that that life is not for you? Who can convince the loyal one that the one whos back he has, doesnt have his? How can we awake the dismayed, the young and hopeless... Remind them that 21 year olds who live to be 31 realize life gets better...even when its not. Who can convince them they matter? Who can convince them that nothing is more precious than their life. I am sick of being tired. I am sick of losing boys who sleep on cartoon character bed sheets to the streets, I am sick of lost boys lives simply seen as characters of the streets. I am so numb. I am afraid.
