He is eager to hear their petitions and desires without anyone coercing or directing them as to what to pray. The individual knows better than anyone else in their life what is on His or her heart that needs to be brought before the Lord. Ministers get out of the way. 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. 1 Peter 5:2-4 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28 Testimony- The Lord had my wife and I meet a Pastor one evening at his prayer meeting and there were only about 4 people there in a church that fit 500. He said that he had been there for a year and there were hardly anyone coming to his services and all he had was about 7-13 members within that year. After speaking with him we gave him our address and then we left. He followed up by coming to visit us at our apartment. As he was sharing with me of where he came from and the ministry that he felt he was so successful at in the state he came from the Holy Spirit spoke through me and said to him you were not successful. Well he was shocked and so were we. He said to us how could this be. Then the Holy Spirit began to explain to him how in the book of Acts that 3,000 were added in one day. So he asked me to help him understand what he needed to do? Then silently I within myself I inquired of the Lord as to what God’s desire was for the ministry that he was placed over. The Lord had me direct him in this manner, “you need to have one night just for prayer. You are not allowed to speak. (Preach announcement’s etc…) I want to hear the people, member’s prayers. After which he asked me if that is what the Lord had said to him to which I replied yes. A year passed and we decided to go to his church and visit. To my amazement the church was full to over flowing. There were people sitting in the isles in the front right to the alter. The back of the church was just about full as well. I said to my wife we had better leave because there was not enough room for us and our children and their stroller. Well he saw us from the alter and he shouted out to me “Brother Gary don’t leave” twice he did this. He came back to where we were and began to remind me of the direction that the Lord had me give to him that evening when he came to visit us. He said that not only did he follow through with what the Lord told him to do at the prayer meetings but now he has instilled two evenings of prayer and he keeps his mouth shut. So he had us escorted to the front on the alter and they set a place for us right next to him. He then shared with the congregation of our encounter and what the Lord had me share with him that evening. 5 year old prays- youtube/watch?v=yum__DM_dWg&feature=relatd 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
