What is the Difference Between Getting Revenge and Avenging a Wrong? Revenge is retaliating for something done to you by inflicting harm. Revenge is not concerned with justice, but rather getting even. To avenge a wrong, on the other hand, is to right a wrong done to another with the idea of seeing justice done. Yes, I know that there is a fine line between the two, but for the warrior, it is an important line. Revenge comes from an emotion of hate and malice, whereas, avenging a wrong comes from a place of love and justice. These two actions may seem the same to the general population, but the warrior knows that the energy of these two actions is completely different. Think of it this way, revenge is a selfish action. It is all about you and your ego. Avenging a wrong done to another is a selfless action, done to right a wrong done to another person so justice is satisfied. Revenge comes from a dark place and does harm to your spirit, while avenging something done to an innocent comes from a place of love and justice, an important difference!
