What is the answer to this? More government? Heck no. The real answer is for fewer people to want those jobs. If people wont take those jobs because they can get paid better elsewhere, the pay will naturally rise. How do they get better paying jobs elsewhere? Improve their skills, work hard, build contacts, and seek opportunity. As we all did. We all invested a great deal in the public school education. I am sure they took full advantage of it, right? You know, they learned math, they learned to read and write well, and they speak grammatical English, right? If not, why did we spend $12,000 a year and more on them for 13 years? What were all those professional educators and administrators doing with all our money and all that time? Babysitting? Watching movies with them? Telling them that they arent good at math either? Reading illustrated novels instead of actual literature? Teaching political indoctrination instead of history? fivethirtyeight/datalab/what-do-mcdonalds-workers-really-make-per-hour/
