What is the best way of losing fat,is it cardio or weight training? Let us first understand what fat is,fats is the excess unused calories that accumalates in the body due to sedentry lifestyle,unhealthy eating habbits,lack of physical activities in day to day life,etc. Inorder to use these unused calories basal metabolic rate(the rate at which body burns calories at resting state) plays a great role. So higher your BMR higher amount of fats u lose so nw let us discus which is the effective method to reduce fats or we can say effective way of increasing the bmr Cardiovascular activities like walking,jogging,swimming,cycling are the most common cardiovascular activities. This activities elevates your heart beat and uses the calories while u r performing the them. Cardio actives improves your cardiovascular system which in turn increases your stamina,improves functioning of heart and lower down your resting heart beat. You can lose weight(if cardio done excessively) by losing muscles. There is only short term effect on bmr while the activity is carried out bt when u finish yo cardio workout there is no effect on bmr. Whereas intense weight training along with correct nutrition and adequate recovery period lead to building up of muscles. Now muscle is a metabolicaly active tissue which means it uses calories when u r resting. Our body is divided into many systems like cardiovascular system,resperatory system digestive system,etc. These all system requires calories to function properly,out of which muscles(musculo-skeletal system) is the largest calory consumer. So the more muscles carry the more calories you use which in turn results in losin fat even when u r resting. While u do intense weight training your body not only uses calories while u r working out bt also after your workout is finished for repairing the microtruma cozed by weight training. Studies have found that intense weight training can boost up yo basal metbolic rate for over 36 hrs. So from above v conclude that weight training is the best way to increase the bmr also the effective way of losing weight
