What is the end game of the Syrian Revolution? I cant help but - TopicsExpress

What is the end game of the Syrian Revolution? I cant help but notice that, while we all agree on the goal of getting rid of Assad and arming the rebels to that effect, we tend to agree on little else. Suppose the rebels find a reliable source of ammunition for their war: from a position of relative strength, how many of you would support negotiations that spare the cities under Assad control presently and the ones under liberated control and Assad bombardment from further destruction to the nations human life and much needed physical and economic infrastructure? Is a joint administration between loyalists and rebels possible on a transitional basis? Are deals where war criminals get to escape in exchange for their troops surrendering control over cities without bloodshed an option? Avoiding such crucial questions leave the Syrian cause vulnerable to the scathing critiques of skeptics who have never sympathized with the revolution and never appreciated the direness of the humanitarian cause it champions; citing a lack of end game planning, and ambiguity on the fate of regime supporters and minorities - military and civilian alike, not to mention the humanitarian catastrophe it would be should a grinding stalemate reach the rest of Syria, such as west Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, central Damascus, and a return inside Homs city. Im asking you all to think about hard questions now and come up with realistic answers that could satisfy neutral opponents of the Syrian Revolution, as well as yourselves.
