What is time? What a difference a minute makes along with a decision that can create chaos or bliss? In an instant, a life can change...profoundly within minutes. I have been acutely aware of this since my Fathers illness arose within minutes in 1978 and then plagued him thereafter through his death in 2008; Freds illness and fight for years ; my Mothers 3 cancers; and from Morgans health struggles from 2006 through the present...the value of a minute is immeasurable. I am tired. The past 2 weeks have been illuminating in so many ways regarding trust, vulnerability, health, and relationships. I have been so very blessed in my life for which I am grateful, even for the hardships growing up; the losses of loved ones; and the challenges presented to Morgan through the years...they have been part of The Lords plan for me and have helped me be strong and resilient. I have 17 horses that I became acutely aware of during the past few weeks that made me realize that I need to get down to the core of my business...retaining my 2 studs, The Only Escape and The Game Changer, and our 4 outstanding HUS mares with 3 being Congress Champions along with Pinky, who is a dream mare acquiring her ROM during her first outing and then another 10 points in her outing with Missy. Therefore, my breeding business and operation consists of these 6 horses and their subsequent foals by The Only Escape and The Game Changer in the future. I feel that I own the prettiest headed and most royally bred HUS stud in the industry whom I will be breeding to 3 of my mares in 2015 while Words Escape Me is by The Only Escape...she will be bred to Hot N Blazing or to The Game Changer, if I decide to stand him. I also look forward and hope that Nikis foal by Invitation Only will be healthy and comes to term next May. I apologize to those trainers and interested parties who were responding to my sale horses earlier in the month...I will be trying to answer your emails and a few calls. However, due to the changes occurring in the past 2 weeks, I will try to make my delays in communication a boost to your pocketbooks?! I am cutting prices and will provide reserves, like one may provide an auction, to encourage serious buyers on each horse. I do not need to be out of state paying monthly training or board on very talented horses which need to be shown and enjoyed by other youth or ammies. I am proud of my horses and the fine jobs that Missy and Julie have done with them since July and August...Fiona is starting lead changes with Missy while they all are now much more broke and can be accurately represented and ridden by other youth or ammies which is fantastic although expensive to me...my losses should become a benefit to you. I actually have had a very good financial year which I can now share with serious buyers....my gains elsewhere can offset my losses with these horses that had farrier, vet, and training problems that caused their delays in 2013 and this year. It does not matter what I have invested in a horse. Rather, what is its present value in this market that appeals to you, the appreciated buyer? In law, I believe that this is a diminution of loss? In the past 2 weeks, I have learned the importance of a second...there are 31,536,000 seconds in a year while there are 525,600 minutes that can change us and our loved ones for a lifetime.
