What is tithe? TIthe means ten percent. It is written in the Bible - TopicsExpress

What is tithe? TIthe means ten percent. It is written in the Bible that it is the first ten percent of all our income, which must be dedicated to the Lord, out of free will. It is obvious that God does not need our money, but when we give back our tithe we are recognizing that what we have (our life, our strength, our finances) belongs to Him. What belongs to God (the blessings, happines, and everything that is good) also becomes ours. In other words, we take part in everything that God has to offer The Bible says that we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ: "And if children, then heirs ? heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together" (Romans 8:17); "Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ" (Galatians 4:7). By giving your tithe, the Word of God is taken to every creature, just as Jesus ordered us. It will be practically impossible to pay the church?s rent, bills, TV and radio programs without tithes and offerings. The practice of giving tithes was established long before the 10 commandments. If this practice was important before the Law and during the Law, why would it not be after the Law? It is so important that when God invites us to try Him, He does so exactly on our finances: "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10) Everyone should feel the need to receive financial blessings. Through these blessings we can enjoy God?s generosity and prove that all the silver and all the gold belong to God as it is written, 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts.' (Haggai 2:8) When we give back our tithe to God, He is obligated (because He promised) to fulfill His Word by rebuking the devourer that destroys the life of many through sicknesses, accidents, addictions, and social degradation. If we are faithful to God in giving our tithes as it is written in the Word of God, we will be able to enjoy all the great things this life has to offer. With God on our side we will have His blessing in everything we do. Who has the right to try God and demand what He has promised? A tither! One of the greatest reasons we should give our tithe is that we have the right to try God, He himself has given us this right through His Word, as it is written in Malachi 3:10. Test God in this and become a tither today. All you need to do is say, 'Lord Jesus, I recognize that everything I have belongs only to You and I am Your child. I no longer accept a devourer in my life. From now on, I?ll be faithful to God by giving my tithe of everything that comes to my hands.' And try Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.. '(Malachi 3:10)' The difference between offering and tithes. Tithe is the first ten percent of our income. Everything that comes to our hands we must give back to the Lord. Tithes and offerings are two completely different things. Offering is voluntary and not an obligation. When we give our tithe, God sees our faithfulness. And when we give our offering, He sees the love and dedication we have for the Work of God. The Lord Jesus also said, 'Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you' (Luke 6:38).
