What is to be done about people like this? Council put up a fence around the picnic shelter on the point at Tempe Reserve to protect the Fairy Martin nests there, after they had been vandalised. Over Christmas, somebody has come in and destroyed the fence - somebody strong and determined: the whole fence is down and in places the steel posts have been bent flat - and then they have gone on to destroy the nests. This photo is of a nest that was almost complete on 24th December. Since then it has been completed and lined with feathers and grass ... and then vandalised.
