What is your best memory of Fathers Day? For me, it is playing - TopicsExpress

What is your best memory of Fathers Day? For me, it is playing with our young boys at our neighborhood park. We would play catch, then I would push them on the swings--I can still hear them shout Higher, Dad! Then we would take a break by sitting in the shade under the slide and I would tell them stories. The boy who pulled the thorn from the paw of the lion was a favorite. So was David and Jonathan. When I think of Fathers Day I dont remember gifts, but people. My father and my family. Janets thoughtful card, the boys grins as I opened their presents, time together. C. S. Lewis reminds us that you have never met a mortal. Ten thousand millennia after the stars have faded and this planet has ceased to be, eternity will only have begun. Today, as a father I give thanks to God for my wife and sons. As a son, I give thanks for my father. As a child of God, I give thanks for my Father. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change (James 1:17).
