What is your feeling about people whose political positions go in the right direction (i.e., from where society is right now), but dont go far enough? Do you support them, or at least tolerate them, because they may move people in the right direction? Or do you oppose them, because they distract people and delay people seeing what is really needed? An example is, what about people who want to reform capitalism in various seemingly humanitarian ways, but do not actually advocate ending capitalism? But the problem is more complicated than that. For instance, if you believe (as I do) that capitalism cannot actually be reformed, then any attempts to reform capitalism are actually misleading, and serve to increase the misinformation problem. I dont have an easy answer to this question. I mean, it appears to me that there may be a tradeoff -- improving things in some humanitarian way while increasing misinformation. Maybe it has to be decided on a case-by-case basis, rather than by some general principle. Do you see some general principle that might apply, if not always then at least often?
