What is your stand on establishing a formal inter-fraternal - TopicsExpress

What is your stand on establishing a formal inter-fraternal recognition between the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) and the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows (GUOOF)? Racial segregation was prevalent and acceptable among churches, restaurants, clubs, fraternal orders and even restrooms in North America from the mid-1800s to 1960s. As a result of this culture, African-Americans founded the GUOOF in 1843. Today, however, racial segregation is no longer acceptable. Instead, the current generation are taught about diversity and equality. In the USA and other countries, GUOOF members have shown willingness to establish mutual-recognition since 2009. Should we be open to this proposal to promote true universal fraternity and stand as a fraternal order that practices true equality? Aside from this, we will also add 10,000-50,000 African-American Odd Fellows as well as GUOOF members from other nations like Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Ghana, Togo, and so on, thus, expand the international social network of worldwide Odd Fellowship. The IOOF in in Australia have already established mutual-recognition with the GUOOF in Australia. We must catch-up with the times and show that we are indeed a progressive fraternity that embody the ideals of equality - friendship, love and truth for all regardless of race, gender, religion and nationality.
