What it feels like to be one of the few women in engineering. I work so hard, probably harder than most of the males in my classes, and yet I have to prove myself to TAs and Professors on a daily basis. I noticed that my TA only speaks to my male lab partner every time WE ask him a question. He only looks at my male lab partner straight in the eye and explains to him the question I asked as if I dont even exist. My TA is a nice person and a great TA but he neglects the women in my lab and it drives me nuts. How dare you judge someones intelligence based on gender? To all the guys in engineering classes- Just because youre a guy doesnt mean you are smarter or better at engineering than the girls in your classes. Girls pull just as many all nighters as you. They spend just as much time in labs as you do. So next time you look down upon a girl in your engineering class, ask her how shes doing in the class. Shes most likely getting better grades than you but she doesnt brag about them like you do. #donthate #appreciate
