What it means to be respected is part two of our series on what young Pacific women want. Respected is one of five key themes identified by the Pacific Young Womens Leadership Alliance (PYWLA). The other themes are safe, included, connected and skilled. Over a period of five weeks, well hear reflections from members of the PYWLA about what these themes mean to them and why they are important for Pacific womens engagement at local, national and international level. Last week we heard from PYWLA members about what it means to be safe. The PYWLA is a network of regional, international and locally based organisations working with young women leaders across the region. These five key themes of safe, respected, included, connected and skilled were developed after talking to over 250 young women who took part in interactive consultations across six Pacific countries. You can join the discussion about what it means to be respected on our Australia Plus Pacific Facebook page.
