What kind of nurse are you? Ive had to decide that here recently with all the opportunities Ive had in this career field.... Most nurses can adapt to any situation or environment and some cant by will or ability. I am a hospital nurse and a clinic nurse by choice, I love the ever changing world of nursing and while there are days I would rather be stabbed in the eye than deal with one more patient, there are more good days of babies being born, cancers disappearing, blood sugars regulating, extubations, good clear & clean surgical incisions, the healing of chronic troublesome wounds, and the best part is the chance to see a patient at their worst only to turn around and see them at their best. Nursing is more than passing pills, ordering labs, and listening to complaints....Its truly about compassion no matter how difficult it may be to show sometimes. Dont let yourself get burnt out, and dont forget why you chose this profession, despite popular belief it wasnt for the money! Ok that is all!
