What kind of society do we live in where people can call themselves civilized yet hear of the violence inflicted on non human animals and think it is okay? How can they hear of baby chicks trying with all their might to fly away from the machine that will grind them up alive and think its okay? How can they hear of a calf being stolen away from his mother so they can steal his milk and think its okay? How can they hear of the calf being thrown in a tiny enclosure, tied at the neck, barely able to move, undernourished for months then trucked off to slaughter so weak from malnourishment he can barely walk to his death so a worker drags him by his ears or tail towards the bloodied knife that will slash this baby to pieces and think its okay? How can they hear of mother pigs in crates who cant turn around and are forced to lay in their waste with weeping wounds and weeping eyes and think its okay? How can they hear of her babies who arent growing fast enough are grabbed by the hind legs and have their heads repeatedly slammed onto the concrete in front of their mother and think its okay? And even if these and many more atrocities did not happen how can they think its okay to lock away sentient beings for their entire lives, deprive them of any joy, deprive them of every basic right to life, and then snuff out their life just like that, just like they are nothing, nothing more than something to serve humans pleasure! How can they think its okay to do this to others and yet call themselves civilized? Well there are many millions who have opened our eyes to the truth. We are making others aware and everyday we hear of more truly good people who have opened their eyes too so our numbers keep growing. More than anything we long for the day when everyone has opened their eyes and not only know that what weve been doing to others is not okay but see it for the pure evil it is. More that anything we long for the day when all our fellow earthlings can live in freedom, enjoy their lives and loved ones as we were all meant to.
