What makes America the greatest nation on Earth? 1. Most nuclear warheads? No, that honor belongs to Russia. 2. Longest life expectancy? No, Japan beats us there. 3. Freedom of speech? Plenty of other countries have it. You dont get arrested in Ireland or dozens of other countries for protesting your government. 4. Freedom of religion? No, plenty of other countries have that. 5. We won WWII? We had a big part in it, but so did Russia and the other allies. 75% of Nazi casualties took place on the Eastern Front. 6. We have the lowest taxes on Earth? Lower than many countries, but certainly not when it comes to corporate taxes. 7. Were the healthiest? Certainly not. 8. We have the best educated population on Earth? At the graduate school level, we are great, but we dont stand out at the K-12 level compared to other nations. 9. Were the safest nation? Certainly not. Our murder rate is out of control compared to other rich nations. 10. Everyones trying to get here? True, millions of people from poor nations are trying to come to America, but were not seeing millions trying to get here from Western Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia, NZ and other rich, free nations. Also, we have a lot more space for immigrants than Australia or Sweden or other nations, many of whom dont have a history of immigration or of being a melting pot. 11. We have the happiest population on Earth? No. Denmark beats us there. 12. The world can depend on us when it needs liberating? Burma, Zimbabwe, North Korea, China, Sudan....we liberated those guys? 13. We have the most Nobel Prizes? Per capita? No. 14. We provide the world with its medical and scientific innovations? Were certainly a leader, but a great deal of R & D takes place in Switzerland, Britain, France, Israel, Japan, South Korea and Australia. 15. We defend the world? From what? Russia? Russia has a lower military budget than France and Britain. China? Doesnt have an expansionist history. It had a miserable experience already fighting Japan, India in 1962 and Vietnam in 1979. Im sorry, but what makes us so much better than Switzerland or Australia or Canada?
