What makes a country endearing? It is a ridiculous to say that you love the country but resent the machinations that administer it. The body, the land, the mind, the psyche/the govt. and the soul, the society are all congruent, one thing, a total expression. We cannot divide it. Just like a knife, it has a spine, a blade and a handle. When you pick it up, you lift the whole knife! I therefore by contempt, resent the whole experience of living here. The duplicity of a parallel society, the compromised judiciary, the political immorality, the dumbing down, the human rights abuses, the debt culture, the imported social disease, the unscrupulous banks that do the govt. bidding, the devaluation of the currency to 1/12 its worth in a mere 3 decades etc.
