What makes you a good yoga teacher? Youre teaching credentials have nothing to do with a certification, or the amount of followers you have, or the poses you can do... It has everything to do with the sincerity of your practice. So many of us want to be teachers without ever fully surrendering to the process of being a student. So often students leave a teacher training, load up their class schedule and let go of their practice and go on to resent yoga. The roots that hold you in place when life becomes difficult is your dedication to your sadhana. Youre ability to help others is directly related to your ability to help yourself. There is no shortcut - becoming a good teacher takes years of sincere practice. Be patient and learn each day. Do this for a 1000 days and begin to know what it takes. My teacher Raghunath would always remind me the quickest way to feed your ego was to teach yoga. Everyone listens and complements you. Look how quickly you can gain thousands of followers. Give your students complements back to your teachers... You did not invent yoga. Youre merely sharing what was shared with you. To teach is a great honor but to be a student is the greatest joy.
