What matters most, black lives or hating law enforcement? Institutions have abused African Americans since the inception of this country. You shouldnt be surprised by incidents like Fergusons, you should be disgusted. Disgusted that black people continue to suffer disproportionately 50 plus years after the Civil Rights Act. Was Dr. King a dreamer or a visionary? Its up to the survivors to make that determination. If black lives matter than it is up to black lives to set the standard. In public we demand justice while privately treating one another unjustly. This contradiction tears us apart and undermines our cries. If black lives matter than be better parents to our children. The power of legacy is imparted by the reinforcement of your example. If black lives matter than speak out and protest the outrageous disparities in wealth and education. If black lives matter then boycott entertainment that glorifies violence and misogyny within the black community. If black lives matter than invest, encourage and empower black lives every single day. The idea that prosperity is contingent on a movement is counter productive. Progress is made when we honor love and the legacy of our heros by embodying and perpetuating their teachings. Much #love to every life. #peace
